Bathroom Addition for 30% to 40% Less

Bathroom addition is one of the best type of improvement that you can do to your home. Most people do not have enough bathrooms in their home and would love to have additional one. Also, any additional bathroom will automatically add to the value of the house. It will give you the best return on investment and will help one day is the selling of the house. However, the key element to achieve the best return on investment is to have the right design in order to lower the construction cost. One of the most costly aspect of a new bathroom addition is the connection of the new waist (drain) line to the existing house main waist pipe. It might be necessary to electronically locate the house waist pipe under the concrete floor. In short, you should hire an experience, license contractor to do the job and not a handyman in your neighborhood. Just remember that the over all cost of the bathroom addition can escalate because of purchasing expensive fixtures. As you probably know you can buy a sink faucet at Home Depot for less than $50 but also you can spend as much as $1,500 for a faucet. Just remember that you can control your construction cost by choosing fixtures and accessories wisely.

Screen or Glass Enclosure in Arizona

Homeowners are debating if to enclose their pool or patio with screen or with glass. Arizona is a unique state that have a hot and dusty desert and also a cool and winter snow in the North. In each part of their state a screen enclosure should be considered only if you need a protection from bugs and mosquito's. Screen enclosure alone will not stop the dust and any flying debris, which are common in the Arizona desert. The glass enclosure provides the best of two worlds. It is a screen enclosure when doors and windows are open. It is also a perfect enclosure, when windows and doors are closed, because it becomes an additional closed living space. A space that can be air condition or heated. Additionally, a glass pool or patio enclosure provides the best protection from the harsh elements. All glass or glassing that we use in any patio enclosure, pool enclosure and sunroom is insulated, low E and has an ultra violet protection. We can build a permanent enclosures as well as retractable or telescopic enclosure. Arizona Room or Arizona Sunroom Addition

Many people refers to a Patio Enclosure with a lot of windows as an "Arizona Room". Arizona Room and/or Sunroom Addition can be any living space that is not used a a bedroom or as a kitchen. Most of the patio Enclosures and Sunroom Additions, in Arizona are being used a recreational space or as an extention to the family room or the living room. One of the frequent question is should the Arizona Room will have a glass roof. A glass roof is not advisable in the Southwest climate. However, it should be under consideration in the Northeast part of the US.

Many years ago, a modular sunroom ( made from glass, aluminum and plastic) was popular and relatively less costly than a standard construction. However, in today's economy the Modular Sunrooms are very expensive and also, many of the home owners Associations, will not permit the use of the modular system. The main objection is that the modular sunroom system is not consistante with most of the Arizona housing styles.

AZ Enclosures and Sunrooms, a division of S and S Builders in Phoenix, developed Arizona Rooms, patio enclosures and sunroom additions that are built on sight and looks identicly to the original house. This inovating design and construction cost much less than any modular system and being approved by all Home owners Associations. Farthermore, on site construction provides better energy efficiency than any of the modular systems.

Az Enclosures and Sunrooms is a division of S & S builders, a licensed, bonded and insured company in the state of Arizona. Providing Free estimates as well as free design.

Building Green and Energy Efficient Sunroom Additions

Regardless of your belief level on "Global warming" or "Climate Change" you always should consider to incorporate few "Green Construction" techniques and materials in any construction project at your home or business. Note that I recommend few and not everything that is available in the marketplace. Why do I recommend few and not everything? because what ever you select should pass the "does it make sense?" and what is the "return on investment" tests.

Window and door glass insulation should always be at the minimum of double insulated glass wit a low E coating. Most of the window manufacturers provides several options for total insulation value. Check with your contractor or with the manufacturer for available options.

Remember that energy gain or loss passes through materials with the least resistance. Therefor, in a room addition or in sun room addition with a large glass area it will make more sense to invest in a good insulated glass. Do not go overboard in wall and ceiling insulation because their level of resistance is much higher than any glass resistance. In this example, the good insulated glass will give you a better "return on investment" than the wall insulation. Our common sense tests should be applied to any type of construction project. Such as, room addition, sun room addition, patio enclosure and most of the home remodeling projects. Feel free to contact AZ Enclosures and Sun rooms, a division of S and S builders, regarding "green building and "green construction"

Cooling/Heating a Sunroom Addition or Room Addition

Cooling and heating a sunroom addition is a subject that many homeowners and some contractors are straggling with and have no clear understanding of what should be done.
Most homeowners are under the impression that adding additional ducts to the existing house system will be sufficient enough to cool and heat the new sunroom addition. The reality is that in most cases the existing house cooling/heating unit was not designed for the sunroom addition. it was designed only for the original house only. The efficiency of any cooling/heating system depends not only of the blower size but also on the ducts configuration. Such as size, length and the number and location of the registers and the air returns.
In most cases an existing cooling/heating system will not be able to handle an additional space, especially a sunroom addition.
It is highly recommended that a new cooling/heating unit will be installed as a dedicated unit to the addition with its own thermostat.
There are several options to consider. For small sunrooms with an average size of glass area an in-wall unit might be sufficient. However, as the sunroom addition becomes larger and larger with a large size of glass area, a heat pump or mini split units will be a better choice.
That why it is vital important to select a highly qualified contractor who has the knowledge and experience in selecting the right cooling/heating system for the new sunroom addition.
AZ Enclosures and Sunrooms are most qualified contractors in the design and construction of sunroom additions as well as any room addition. Their customers can attest to it.

Room Addition or Sunroom Patio Enclosure?

What are the differences between a room addition and sunroom or patio enclosure? The simple answer is “not much”. Usually, people refer to an addition with a lot of windows and full view glass doors as a sunroom or a patio enclosure. Especially, if it is being used as a recreational space and not as a living space. Most people call a bedroom addition if a room addition is being used as a bedroom. As you can tell it is in all in the “eye of the beholder”. So do not be concern with definitions. Just let your contractor design you the right space for needs and lifestyle. Any qualified contractor can provide you with the right design and obtain the required building permit.
